In conversation with guest David M Allen who has produced and worked on records by The Cure, Depeche Mode, The Sisters Of Mercy, The Psychedelic Furs, The Human League, Neneh Cherry, and The Chameleons, among many many other artists. Dave has worked on more albums by The Cure than anybody else. Dave worked as The Cure’s producer from 1983 to 1992, from mixing The Lovecats single to producing the Wish album, and taking in a golden era of The Cure’s output as the producer for The Top, The Head On The Door, Kiss Me, Kiss Me , Kiss Me, and their landmark album Disintegration. He talks about his production career, featuring many of my own favourite records, his own music, and much more besides; including how he started out, his work on The Human League’s classic album Dare, and the Sisters Of Mercy debut album First and Last and Always and more besides.
